What will my provider charge?

How the free trial and billing work

  • Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, one per Apple ID across all Larken plans.
  • After the trial, your plan renews automatically at the price shown, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.
  • Cancel anytime in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Larken. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge.
  • All Larken plans are in one subscription group, so you can switch between them without paying twice. Apple shows when a change takes effect.
  • Payments and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • With Your own key, your provider (OpenAI or ElevenLabs) bills you separately for usage. Larken never charges you for provider usage.

About the Full service allowance

Full service includes up to $5 of AI usage a month, with a daily limit of $1, so one heavy day can't use up your month. The Larken app shows how much of your allowance you've used. If you reach the limit, new recordings pause until it resets. There are no overage charges, ever. For most people that's roughly 750 minutes of dictation a month (estimate). The monthly allowance resets on the 1st of each month, and the daily limit resets at midnight UTC.

Plan questions

Can I switch plans later?

Yes, anytime from the Larken app or your Apple subscription settings. Your history, templates, and settings stay put.

I use ElevenLabs. Do I get full formatting?

With an ElevenLabs key alone, you get accurate transcription with basic cleanup. Add an OpenAI key as well to unlock full formatting, styles, and templates.

What if my provider account runs out of credit?

Larken tells you clearly (“Your OpenAI balance is used up”) and doesn't silently switch to another provider. Top up with your provider and try again.

Is the yearly plan cheaper?

Yes. Your own key is $9.99/year (83¢ a month), and Full service is $99.99/year (about $8.33 a month).

Do prices include tax?

The App Store shows the final price for your country, including any applicable taxes.
